JON BRADY REFLECTS ON A 'GOOD WAY TO END THE SEASON'

The views of the Cobblers boss

27 April 2024

Northampton Town manager Jon Brady praised his side after the 1-1 draw at Barnsley on the final day of the season saw the Cobblers end the campaign with 60 league points.

"I felt we deserved the point and it was a good way to end the season," he said.

"To get to 60 points makes it a very good season for us and it was maybe typical that we scored late on, as we have done so often this season.

"I was pleased the goal came in front of our fans, they have been fantastic all season and it was nice to end the season with that moment.

"I felt we looked more of a threat when we changed shape and apart from the one that Jon Guthrie cleared off the line, I don't think Barnsley created too much in the second half.

"Not many sides come here and have the majority of possession but we did and I think we gave a good account of ourselves.

"We'll have meetings with the players on Monday and we'll announce the retained list this week. The challenge for us is to try and build on this season and to build a squad that can be competitive in what will be a very strong League One next season."
