With the release of the fixtures this week, and the squad's recent return to pre-season training ahead of the forthcoming 2017/2018 campaign, the excitement among everyone connected with Northampton Town Football Club for the new season is growing.
Recruitment at the Cobblers has been strong this summer, with the arrival of both experience and youth within the playing ranks, and that work is ongoing to add more new faces to the squad ahead of the big kick off.
In addition, another very special signing is being sought by one of the club's partners. Official Family Area partners at Sixfields, Mick George Ltd, are looking for a suitable character to take on the role of mascot ‘Mick the Skip’, and are offering £1,000 per annum and a free season ticket in return.
The job requires availability 2 hours prior to kick off, up until the conclusion of half time, with tasks including the general liaison with fellow supporters, in a cheerful manner for photographs and the half time Skip Challenge.
